FAQs

What is an AAC assessment, and who needs one?

An AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) assessment helps determine the best communication tools and strategies for individuals who have limited or no verbal speech. This includes children and adults with autism, apraxia, cerebral palsy, developmental disabilities, or acquired conditions like stroke or traumatic brain injury.

Do you accept insurance?

I currently accept private pay and am in the process of credentialing with select insurance providers. I’m happy to provide a superbill for possible reimbursement. Please reach out for the most current information on insurance and payment options.

How long does an evaluation take?

AAC and speech-language assessments typically involve a 60-minute in-person evaluation, followed by 1–2 virtual follow-up sessions. A comprehensive report is completed within 4–6 weeks and may be used for device funding, school planning, or clinical recommendations.

Do you offer services for adults as well as children?

Yes! I provide evaluations and consultation services for both children and adults, including those in educational settings, at home, or in outpatient clinics.

Do you work with bilingual or multilingual clients?

Yes. I’m experienced in evaluating and supporting individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. I consider both languages spoken and collaborate with interpreters when needed to ensure accurate, culturally responsive assessment and planning.

Do you offer teletherapy or virtual assessments?

Yes! I provide secure, HIPAA-compliant teletherapy and virtual consultations for families and teams across California. Many AAC and speech-language evaluations can be conducted remotely with the same level of care and accuracy as in-person sessions.
